Big Brother Naija housemate Faith has been disqualified from the reality TV show following a heated altercation with fellow contestant Sultana during a skincare task rehearsal.
Biggie announced Faith’s disqualification on Thursday evening, hours after the clash left Sultana with a twisted ankle and a hand injury.
Trouble began when Sultana accused Faith of being controlling and insisting on leading the group despite the task not being related to his expertise.
The argument escalated when Faith dragged a basket containing task materials, causing Sultana to fall. Housemate Kaybobo intervened and briefly took the basket from him, but the confrontation continued until Sultana declared she could no longer work with him.
The incident sparked outrage among viewers, many of whom demanded Faith’s disqualification for inflicting harm on a fellow housemate – a call Biggie eventually upheld.
Faith’s exit is the first disqualification of the season. It comes weeks after the show’s organisers restated that violence of any form would not be condoned in the house.
ex-housemates, Erica, Beauty and Tacha all faced similar disciplinary action.
In 2019, Tacha was disqualified after a fight with Mercy. Big Brother found her guilty of pushing, shoving and pulling Mercy’s hair on two occasions, describing the act as violence and intent to harm.
Mercy, in turn, received two strikes for provocation after flicking her hair on Tacha and failing to de-escalate the situation.
In 2020, Erica was sent packing after a string of infringements, including denying the Deputy Head of House access to the lounge, peeping through the windows, insulting housemates, and goading fellow contestants.
Her cumulative strikes earned her immediate disqualification on eviction Sunday.
In 2022, Beauty Tukura, a former Miss Nigeria, was disqualified barely two weeks into the Level Up season after destroying property and assaulting fellow housemate Groovy. She had previously received a strike for assaulting Ilebaye.
