Former Big Brother Naija housemate Pere Egbi has called on the organisers of the reality show to disqualify some contestants over repeated fights and threats in the house.
Pere made the call in a post on X on Friday following a heated altercation among housemates allegedly over chicken.
He wrote:
“People must chop disqualification for this house. At least one. How will you fight over chicken???? Madness!!!!!!!”
One of the most talked-about incidents occurred on Thursday night when housemates Jason Jae and Victory engaged in a physical altercation over chicken. Victory reportedly picked a piece of chicken Jason had reserved, leading to a scuffle that saw both men fall to the ground before other housemates separated them.
On the same night, Denari and Otega also clashed after a pool party when Denari tried to take grilled chicken from Otega’s plate. The exchange quickly turned verbal, with Denari shouting, “You dey mad?? Are you a goat? You fit chop that thing wey you give me??” to which Otega replied, “Am I Big Brother?”
Also reacting to the growing tension in the house, comedian Steve Chuks said housemate Imisi deserved two strikes.
“Imisi suppose collect 2 strikes sha, the speaking of Yoruba and the threats that she will stab someone???? C’mon!!!” he tweeted.
Imisi had earlier threatened to stab fellow housemate Koyin with a fork during an altercation and also spoke Yoruba in the heat of the moment; both actions are considered violations of Big Brother’s rules.
According to BBNaija rules, housemates are to speak only English and must not engage in physical violence or issue threats. Violations may lead to warnings, strikes or disqualification.
In another incident, housemates Denari and Danboskid accused some of their colleagues of faking tears and conflicts for the cameras.
“People escalate things in this house … It’s a performance,” Denari said. “Some tears I have seen are not genuine. Mensan cried fake tears and Kaybobo also cried fake tears because he has been watching this guy cry.”
Danboskid added, “Kaybobo was crying because he wants to have the attention he saw the housemates giving to Mensan.”
Season 10 of Big Brother Naija features 29 housemates competing for a grand prize of N150 million. The show is already drawing attention for its intense drama and early conflicts.
Big Brother is yet to issue any official punishment following the incidents. However, with pressure mounting from viewers and past housemates like Pere, disciplinary action may be imminent.
