Vice chairman of Badagry West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos State, Oluremi Ajose, has died two months after assuming office.
Ajose was inaugurated on July 27, alongside the LCDA chairman Rauf Yemaren and five councilors.
The swearing-in ceremony was conducted by Lagos State governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Reports from Badagry indicate that the council vice chairman died on Saturday.
Family sources confirmed the development, stating that her remains have been deposited in a morgue.
Ajose was the daughter of His Royal Majesty, Oba Oyekan Ajose, the Alapa of Apa Egun-Awori Kingdom.
Her death has drawn reactions from political circles and the royal family in Badagry.
Ajose’s death comes at a time when she was expected to begin active duties in her role as vice chairman of the council, working with the chairman and councilors to implement local governance policies.
