British-Nigerian author and content creator Toni Tone has married her fiancé Taiwo Ogebule, popularly known as Taye9ja, in a traditional wedding ceremony held in Lagos.
The couple, who got engaged in June 2024, had earlier held their Yoruba introduction ceremony where Toni’s family formally accepted Taye’s proposal.
Toni, known for her book I Wish I Knew This Earlier: Lessons on Love, announced her engagement last year with a series of pictures and a heartfelt message, noting how their long-distance relationship blossomed through intentionality.
In the days leading up to their wedding, the pair shared pre-wedding photos which captured their chemistry and sense of style.
Toni dazzled in a custom beaded corset blouse and skirt by designer Amy Aghomi, while Taye looked regal in agbada and cap.
Sharing one of the pictures online, Toni wrote: “This is just the warm-up… Husband and wife still loading.”
The new photos from their traditional wedding on Thursday show the author glowing with joy as she embraces her Nigerian heritage alongside her partner.
Sharing a clip from the wedding on Instagram, showing her husband carrying her she wrote, “If he can’t curl me, I don’t want him 💪🏾 😅.”
Other videos showed her reciting her vow, dancing with her bridesmaids and sharing heartwarming moments with her husband.
