The family of Arise News anchor Somtochukwu “Sommie” Maduagwu has announced that her funeral will hold on Saturday, October 18, in her hometown of Agulu, Anambra State.
The burial follows a funeral service at Saint Theresa Catholic Church.

Sommie died after jumping from her third-floor apartment during an armed robbery attack at her residence in Katampe, Abuja, on September 29th.

In response to her death, the police in the Federal Capital Territory confirmed that an investigation is underway into the robbery.
The announcement of her burial comes amid public outcry and demand for justice and with attention focused on security and the protection of citizens in their homes.
