Actor Jerry Amilo has penned an emotional note to his late daughter Chidera, affectionately called Angel, one year after her demise.
The 54-year-old on Thursday shared a compilation video of moments with her on Instagram, accompanied by a lengthy caption expressing his pain.
“Hello Angel 👼 🤩👋 Knock knock Heaven 🙏 It’s already one year old since we laid you down to Mother Earth. Hope heaven is treating you well? My Angel 👼🥰 you can’t imagine what I go through everyday since you left..😔 Each time I think of you my life must pause and tears drops nonstop..😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭,” he wrote in part.
Jerry continued: “Even though I try to act as if everything is fine but still a million questions won’t leave my heart. Asking God why so early? why you? Why me? Why? Just as I write you this morning with my eyes filled with nonstop tears..😭😭😭 I’m sure that everyone who loved you so much goes through same too. Rest on my Angel 😇 🤍💕 Please keep interceding in our prayers to God Almighty for love, mercy and protection for always 🙏 The space you left behind is so large to occupy but your 💕 love keeps shining as though you never left. The truth is that we miss you 🥰 more each day. And we can’t pretend. Chideraa Are you coming back soon ??.”
Chidera died last year, shortly after returning to Nigeria. Just weeks before her death, Amilo had reunited with her after two years apart and shared a video of their meeting.
She was later laid to rest in Asaba, Delta State, in a funeral attended by family, friends and colleagues of the actor. Amilo shared clips of the ceremony at the time, describing it as one of the hardest moments of his life.
The cause of Chidera’s death was not made public.
