APC inaugurates 50 Street Captains in Otto Awori for Jagaban/Jandor 2027 project

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Otto Awori Local Council Development Area has inaugurated 50 Street Captains as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The inauguration, organised by the Lagos4Lagos Movement under the APC, was held on Saturday at the Ilogbo-Elegba Town Hall in Lagos.

Each Street Captain is expected to coordinate 100 grassroots mobilisers per street.

The initiative is part of the JAGABAN/JANDOR 2027 Project, aimed at strengthening party structures through street-level organisation, voter education and continuous community engagement across Otto Awori LCDA and the Badagry Division.

Speaking at the event, the APC State Chairman, represented by the Lagos West Senatorial Youth Leader, Rasheed Gbose, said the Street Captains initiative is intended to improve grassroots mobilisation, voter contact and party coordination.

Mr Gbose urged party members to take part in the ongoing APC electronic registration exercise, saying an updated membership register is important for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027 and the party’s continued control of Lagos State.

In his address, APC leader Chief Shakirudeen Apena called for greater inclusion of the Badagry Division in Lagos State leadership.

He said Badagry remains the only division that has not produced a governor.

Mr Apena said the division continues to face infrastructure gaps despite its location and potential in tourism, aquaculture, the blue economy and maritime trade.

He also expressed support for Dr. Olajide Adediran, better known as Jandor, as the preferred APC governorship aspirant for the 2027 Lagos governorship election.

The event was attended by APC leaders, stakeholders, youth representatives and grassroots mobilisers from Otto Awori LCDA and other parts of the Badagry Division.
