Actress Angela Okorie has broken her silence following her release from police custody and detention, thanking supporters who stood by her during the period.

Angela shared a message on social media shortly after regaining her freedom, expressing gratitude and appreciation for the support she received. She wrote:

“I will speak to my fans and families tomorrow!!

“God bless each and every one of you who showed me love. You all are amazing.
Thank you”.

Her management also dismissed reports saying she was re-arrested after her release.

Angela’s release followed days of public attention after she was arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Centre and taken from Lagos to Abuja. The arrest was linked to allegations of cyberstalking and defamation arising from an online dispute involving her colleague Mercy Johnson.

A Federal High Court in Abuja later granted her bail with conditions, including the provision and verification of a surety. Despite meeting some of the requirements, the actress remained in custody at the Suleja Correctional Centre for several days before her release.

Her detention sparked reactions within the entertainment industry and on social media, with colleagues and fans questioning the length of time she spent in custody after bail was granted. Filmmaker Stanley Ontop was among those who publicly raised concerns and called for fairness in the handling of the case.
