Actor Ganiyu Nafiu, popularly known as Alapini Oosa, has finally met Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, months after lamenting neglect despite campaigning for his father during the 2023 general election.
Photos shared online show the actor in high spirits with Mr Tinubu and actress Fathia Williams during a visit in Lagos.
The meeting comes after Alapini went viral earlier in the year for accusing the Tinubu family of abandoning Nollywood veterans who supported the president’s campaign.
“We were campaigning with joy thinking our messiah has arrived, because Tinubu is someone we have loved for many years, and he has been helpful to actors. That was why we came out to support him for two months,” he said at the time.
“Maybe they are not in the right frame of mind to think about giving anything in return yet,” he added.
Expressing disappointment, he asked, “Would Seyi claim that he did not see we the old folks during when we were out there campaigning?”
Alapini also mentioned his colleague Olaiya Igwe, who prayed naked at a beach for Tinubu’s victory. “My friend Olaiya Igwe, who stripped himself naked in the beach because of Tinubu… The curses that were placed on him, up till now he hasn’t been free from them. They did not give us anything.”
The actor further criticised Seyi’s charity work in Northern Nigeria, asking, “Aren’t there sick people here in Yorubaland too?”
Details of their meeting remain unclear.
Alapini Oosa is known for his priestly and mystical roles in Yoruba movies.
