Comedian Akpororo has reacted after receiving a cash gift of $15,000 from music star Burna Boy.
Akpororo shared the news on Thursday through his Instagram page, posting a video of the money. In the caption, he wrote, “@burnaboygram what do you want from me. You get doings abeg.”
In the video now circulating online, Akpororo is seen holding up the cash and expressing excitement over the gesture. The development drew reactions from fans, many of whom praised Burna Boy for the surprise gift.
Akpororo rose to prominence after winning the Calabar zone of the National Comedy Challenge in 2008. He later won the AY Open Mic Challenge in Lagos, which helped establish his presence in Nigeria’s comedy scene. He is also known for incorporating music into his performances and has featured in several films and comedy shows.
Burna Boy, born Damini Ogulu, is a Grammy Award winner and one of Nigeria’s most internationally recognised artistes. He won the Best Global Music Album category at the 63rd Grammy Awards for his album Twice as Tall. Over the years, he has built a global audience with hit songs and multiple sold out shows across Europe, the United States and Africa.
