Senate President Godswill Akpabio has congratulated Muslims in Nigeria on the celebration of Eid el Maulud, the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
In a statement on Friday by his special adviser on media and publicity, Eseme Eyiboh, Senator Akpabio urged Muslims to emulate the prophet’s life of peace, love and service to humanity.
“On behalf of the Senate, my family, and constituents, I extend warm felicitations to our Muslim brothers and sisters as you celebrate the birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW). May this auspicious occasion bring peace, joy, and blessings to our great nation and the world at large,” the statement read.
The Senate President added, “As we commemorate the life and teachings of the Prophet, I urge you to draw inspiration from his virtues of harmony, love, and service to humanity. May we all strive to live in unity, embracing the values of compassion, kindness, and selflessness that the Prophet exemplified.”
Akpabio prayed that the celebration would bring peace, prosperity and progress to Nigeria, while wishing Muslims a happy Eid el Maulud.
