Businesswoman Aisha Achimugu marked her 52nd birthday on Thursday with a personal message shared on Instagram, as a Federal High Court in Abuja fixed March 25 for ruling on a suit seeking the final forfeiture of $13 million linked to a company associated with her.

In her birthday message, Ms. Achimugu reflected on her personal journey and growth.

“Today, I pause not because the world asked me to, but because I deserve to,” she wrote.
She said each year had shaped her through lessons and experience.

“I celebrate life, growth, and the woman I am still becoming. Every year has shaped me with lessons, resilience, grace, and quiet strength,” she stated.

Achimugu said she had learned to move at her own pace and rely on faith.

“I have learned to move at my own pace, to trust God’s timing, and to choose peace even when noise is loud,” she wrote, adding that she recognised both visible successes and private struggles.

“I honour the sacrifices, the wins people saw, and the silent battles only God witnessed.”
Looking ahead, she said she was entering a new year with gratitude.

“This new year, I step in with gratitude and clarity,” Achimugu wrote.

She prayed for wisdom, health and peace.

“I pray for deeper wisdom, sustained health, uncommon favour, and peace that money cannot buy,” she said.

She added that she hoped to continue building and encouraging others.

“May my hands continue to build, my voice continue to uplift, and my heart remain soft in a world that often hardens people.”

Achimugu also acknowledged those who had supported her.

“I’m grateful for everyone who has supported me, believed in me, prayed for me, and walked this journey with me – your love does not go unnoticed,” she wrote.

She concluded the message by describing herself as moving forward.

“Happy birthday to me. Still standing. Still evolving. Still blessed. And we go again – bigger, calmer, and more aligned.”

Her birthday came days after Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja fixed March 25 for ruling on a motion filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) seeking the final forfeiture of $13 million claimed by Oceangate Engineering Oil & Gas Ltd.

The date was set on Monday after EFCC counsel, Rotimi Oyedepo and counsel to Oceangate, Darlington Ozurumba, adopted their final written addresses.

The court had earlier ordered the interim forfeiture of the funds, which the EFCC said were proceeds of unlawful activities.

It directed the commission to publish the order in a national newspaper to allow interested parties to show cause.

Oceangate filed an affidavit to show cause, claiming ownership of the funds and stating that the money was sourced for payment of its interests in oil licences PPL 302 and PPL 3007, which it said it won in 2024.

The EFCC opposed the claim, stating that its investigation had shown the funds to be from unlawful sources and that part of the money came from contractors engaged by the Lagos State Government.

The commission asked the court to order the final forfeiture of the funds to the Federal Government, while Oceangate urged the court to set aside the interim forfeiture order.
