The All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) has unveiled its Diamond Showcase portal, calling on rising singers, rappers, producers, DJs and instrumentalists across the continent to submit entries for a chance to perform at the 9th AFRIMA in Lagos.

In a statement, Janatte Haddadi, AFRIMA’s regional manager for Northern Africa, described the initiative as “a rare and valuable opportunity for young creatives who are ready to grow.”

According to her, AFRIMA remains committed to identifying and supporting musicians “who often remain unnoticed in their communities even though they have strong talent.”

Artists are required to upload a 45-second performance video. Applications opened on November 18 and will close on December 8. From the entries, AFRIMA’s jury will shortlist 15 finalists who will be hosted in Lagos from January 6 to 7, 2026.

Haddadi said the finalists, tagged The Diamonds, will receive an all-expense-paid trip to Lagos, mentorship opportunities, AFRIMA gift packs and exposure to top music executives and media platforms.

Encouraging young creatives to apply, she said: “If you believe in your gift, this is the time to act. Don’t wait. Don’t hold back. Submit your entry. Africa is ready to meet its next big talents, and we are ready to support your first major step.”

The Diamond Showcase is part of the activities lined up for the 9th AFRIMA scheduled for January 7 to 11, 2026. The event will also feature the Africa Music Business Summit, Music Village Concert, Nominees Party, Red Carpet and the main awards night.

AFRIMA, which is organised in partnership with the African Union, is expected to broadcast this edition to more than 80 countries. The awards body recently recorded one of its highest submission numbers in history, underscoring the growing interest of African creatives in the platform.
