Singer Adekunle Gold has cancelled his scheduled performance at the Music Central Fest after organisers failed to meet key obligations for the event.

The 38-year-old announced the decision on Saturday, explaining that the conditions required to deliver a proper performance were not in place.

“I won’t be performing at Music City Central today. Unfortunately, due to the organisers not meeting key agreed obligations and the event not being in a state that allows us deliver the kind of show you deserve, we can’t proceed,” he said.

Adekunle Gold expressed regret over the situation, noting that many fans had made plans to attend the show.

“I know many of you made plans to see me, and I don’t take that for granted,” he added. “Thank you for your love and understanding. Please rely on my official pages for any further updates.”

Shortly after his announcement, the organisers released the Day Two line-up for the festival, with his name and image removed, confirming he would not be part of the event.

Music Central Fest is a two-day concert featuring several Nigerian artistes, with Adekunle Gold previously announced as one of the headline performers. As of the time of reporting, the organisers had not issued any public response to his claims.
