Movie producer Adanma Luke has paid tribute to actor Junior Pope and other crew members who lost their lives in a tragic boat accident on the Anam River in Anambra State.
The accident, which occurred on April 10, 2024, claimed the lives of Junior Pope—real name John Paul Odonwodo—24-year-old makeup artist Abigail Frederick, sound engineer Precious Ofurum and two other crew members.
The victims were returning from a movie shoot when their boat reportedly collided with a canoe and capsised.
It was later revealed that the incident may have been caused by obstructed visibility after someone on board stood up to pour libation, blocking the boat operator’s view.
None of the deceased were wearing life jackets at the time.
On Thursday, Adanma took to Instagram to share a video compilation of the late crew members on set before the accident.
In an emotional caption, she reflected on the pain their deaths have caused her.
“It’s been a year but not a day goes by without me thinking of you all. Losing you guys left me with a headache no one can heal unless God intervenes. I lost my smiles, I lost my voice, I lost passion for what I loved doing,” she wrote.
She added: “If all could go away and I still have you guys I’d still be grateful. I sympathize with your loved ones on this day and believe that God is taking good care of you all till we meet again. Keep resting in the Lord my friends and colleagues JP, Friday, Abigail, Olanti and Precious.
