Actress Rahama Sadau has lost her father, Ibrahim Sadau.
The sad news was made public on Sunday by the 31-year-old who took to Instagram to mourn her father.
She shared a solemn post that read “Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun” three times, an Islamic phrase meaning “from Allah we came and to Him we shall return.”
In the caption, she wrote in Hausa: “ALLAH YAYI WA MAHAIFINA RASUWA…,” which translates to “My father is dead…”
Her post was met with a flood of condolence messages from colleagues, fans and fellow celebrities who sympathised with her and prayed for her father’s soul.
Kannywood actor and Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) boss Ali Nuhu, posted a condolence message on Instagram alongside a photo of the late Ibrahim Sadau and Rahama.
“Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un,” Ali Nuhu wrote.
“Allah has called Alhaji Ibrahim Sadau, the father of @rahamasadau, to rest.
May Allah forgive him and have mercy on him, and may death be a relief for him.
May Allah grant his family and loved ones patience and strength to bear the loss. Ameen.”
Rahama Sadau, a prominent actress in both Nollywood and Kannywood, was born and raised in Kaduna. She is one of the most recognisable faces in Northern Nigerian cinema and has featured in numerous English and Hausa-language films.
