Veteran actress Jumoke George has received uplifting news as her 41-year-old daughter, Adeola, who had been missing for four years, has been found alive in Mali.

QED.ng earlier reported that Jumoke, in an emotional interview with Biola Adebayo, revealed that her daughter had been missing since 2020.

Jumoke also opened up about her personal struggles, saying she had been homeless for five to six years and currently lives in her church. She added that her health had deteriorated since January 2, leading to hospital admissions and debt.

“I’m in debt, and I need to undergo brain and heart tests. I don’t have the money,” she said.

Giving an update on Instagram on Wednesday night, Biola revealed that Adeola had been spotted in Mali but had not yet spoken with her mother.

“Adeola has been spotted in Mali. Though she hasn’t spoken with her mom yet, please tell her to call her.

“She’s currently in the hospital, but she will be happy to speak with her at least. I’ve tried calling her, but she has not been picking up anyone’s calls, and her mom is really worried,” the actress wrote on Instagram.

Biola added that the Child Rights Campaign (CRC), which took up the case, made contact with Adeola in Mali and confirmed she left Nigeria in search of greener pastures.

According to CRC, Adeola is alive, healthy and working to achieve her dreams.

In a voice conversation shared by Biola, Adeola explained that she became stranded in Mali after losing her phone and being caught in a violent conflict involving the military and Boko Haram insurgents, which led to multiple deaths.

She said she was stuck without travel documents and feared being jailed if she tried to return home illegally.

“I am already stranded here. I don’t know how I will return home. More importantly, I want to come back home alive,” she said.

Adeola added that she has not been able to speak with her mother because she does not have a phone or a SIM card.

She explained that SIM registration in Mali requires an international passport or a national ID, which she does not possess.

Biola, however, confirmed that Adeola is safe and that Jumoke is doing her best to recover while waiting to hear directly from her daughter.
