Actress Osas Ighodaro has recounted her first on-screen kiss experience in Nollywood.
Osas, who relocated to Nigeria from the United States in 2012, recalled how an actor attempted to use his tongue during the scene.
Speaking on a episode of The Culture League podcast, the 34-year-old said the incident was her first rude shock in the film industry.
“My first on-screen kiss in Nigeria took me by surprise. Though, I knew the kiss was coming and I was prepared for an ‘on-screen kiss,’” she said.
“In my experience, you are not supposed to put your tongue down somebody’s mouth. But the person did. On the basic level, if you are going to do an on-screen kiss you talk about it, ‘Oh I’m going to put my tongue in your mouth.’ But if you don’t talk about it then you know it’s the basics.”
Osas began her acting career in the United States where she featured in projects such as Cadillac Records before moving to Nigeria where she gained fame with Tinsel.
She has since starred in movies like Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story and Man of God, winning the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award (AMVCA) for Best Actress in a Drama in 2022 and 2023.
The former Miss Black USA is also known for her work as a TV host and humanitarian.
