General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Pastor Enoch Adeboye has advised President Bola Tinubu to give service chiefs a 90-day ultimatum to eliminate terrorists and their sponsors.

Speaking during the Holy Ghost Service on Friday night at the Redemption City campground, Pastor Adeboye said the government should move swiftly and diplomatically to address the security challenges that led to Nigeria’s designation as a Country of Particular Concern by US President Donald Trump.

He urged the president to ask the US government to delay any planned action against Nigeria for about 100 days and then instruct the service chiefs to wipe out criminal elements within 90 days or resign.

“There was a President, Buhari, who issued such an order. He called the service chiefs together and said, ‘Get rid of these Boko Haram people or resign,’” Adeboye recalled.

“He ran with that advice but did not follow through because he gave the order as the Commander but did not check if it was carried out.”

Adeboye said that any new directive should include the elimination of both the terrorists and their financiers.

“When giving orders to the service chiefs this time around, he should make it clear to them they are not only to eliminate the terrorists but also the sponsors, no matter how influential they may be,” he said.

The cleric warned that if the US carried out its threat to intervene militarily, no other world power would defend Nigeria.

“If America should attack us, China is not coming to defend us. Likewise Russia and Britain. All the so-called world leaders will talk and condemn what America has done, but they won’t help us,” he said.

Adeboye urged the government to act immediately, adding that this was not the time for debate or blame.

“This is not the time for grammar or argument. Innocent people are dying,” he said.
