Abike Dabiri-Erewa, chairman of the Nigeria Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), has expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for celebrating her father Alhaji Ashafa Erogbogbo on his 99th birthday.
President Tinubu, in a congratulatory message shared on social media on Wednesday, lauded what he described as Alhaji Erogbogbo’s remarkable life of discipline, integrity, and service. He praised the nonagenarian’s storied career, which included roles at the Government Printing Press, Nigerian Customs Service, and Shell Company of Nigeria Limited, where he rose to aviation superintendent at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
Tinubu described Erogbogbo as a pillar of his family and community, whose values are reflected in the achievements of his children, including Mrs. Dabiri-Erewa.
“As you turn 99, I join family, friends and well-wishers across the nation in celebrating your life. I pray that you continue to enjoy good health and peace in the company of your loved ones. I pray you cross the centennial mark in good health and sound mind. “I thank Almighty Allah for granting you long life and being alive to witness the achievements of your children and grandchildren,” Tinubu said.
Reacting to the message, Mrs. Dabiri-Erewa took to X (formerly Twitter) to thank President Tinubu. “A happy 99th birthday to my darling father and a big thanks to HE President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for this beautiful congratulatory message,” she wrote.
