Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) Abike Dabiri-Erewa has expressed sadness over the death of Nihinloluwa Agoro and her two children, Temiloluwa and Isaac, in a road accident in the United States.

The incident occurred on March 15 in Fort Bend County, Texas, while the family was on their way to church.

In a statement issued through NiDCOM’s Head of Media, Public Relations and Protocols, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Mrs Dabiri-Erewa said the loss is painful for any family.

“Such a sudden loss is devastating for any family, especially during what should have been an ordinary journey,” she said.

She expressed sympathy to the Agoro family and prayed for those who died, as well as strength for those left behind.

Dabiri-Erewa also wished those injured in the accident recovery and called for caution on the roads.

She added that she stands with Nigerians in Texas and across the United States following the incident.

The NiDCOM chairman recently also reacted to the death of Khaleed Oladipo, a Nigerian student killed in Leicester, United Kingdom.

Oladipo, a student of De Montfort University, was attacked while returning home.

Abike Dabiri-Erewa called for an investigation into the incident and asked authorities to ensure justice.

She said NiDCOM remains committed to the welfare of Nigerians living outside the country.
