With tears in her eyes, Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson, on Tuesday sent an emotional message to her husband, Odianosen Okojie, who just clocked a year older.
“Am teary and I do know why. Today is Odi’s birthday and I can’t think of the right message,” she wrote in an Instagram message.
The 33-year-old mother of three described the man she married in 2011 as “breath-taking reflection of God’s heart for me. How he loves me, even when I don’t love myself.”
For those speculating about trouble in her marriage, she adds: “I love you beyond my heart. I love you from my soul and that’s the place where only you, the kids and God dwells.”
The Married to the Enemy actress and her husband were at the inauguration of the new Sierra Leonean president on Sunday.
Early this year, reports made the rounds that she was experiencing turbulence in her marriage after she deleted pictures of her husband from her Instagram account.
Speaking in an interview with Punch, she said: “I did not feel bad when I read the news that my marriage was hitting the rocks because it was not true. I am very comfortable in my own space and I am not out to please anybody. I am always true to myself and I continue to be a happy person.
“There was absolutely no problem between my husband and me. I only deleted the old pictures on my Instagram page. They were old so I deleted them to post new ones. I am not letting my husband go. Even when he is angry, I would beg him. You see these beautiful rings that he has given to me, I am never returning them.”
