Another French club want Enyeama

Vincent Enyeama

Ex-Super Eagles skipper, Vincent Enyeama, may be out of favour at Lille but the 35-year-old is attracting interest from a French top-flight team.

Struggling Angers SCO appear to be keen on the Nigerian who is approaching the final 18 months of his contract at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

Enyeama joined Lille in 2011, establishing himself as one of the best shot-stoppers in Ligue 1.

However, injuries and a change in managerial personnel have seen the ex-Enyimba player relegated to the fringes.

That could come to an end in the winter.

According to French website, Sportune.fr, Enyeama is expected to depart Lille for Angers in January.

The Nigerian could take the place of Angers’ second choice goalkeeper, Mathieu Michel, who is close to a return to Ligue 2 side Nimes Olympique.

The report further reveals that Angers must splash €500,000 to €1m to land Enyeama who has 18 months left on his current deal with Lille.

Enyeama’s return to club football action six months to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia may reignite calls for his return to the Super Eagles squad with the trio of Daniel Akpeyi, Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Francis Uzoho not inspiring confidence.

Angers are currently 19th in the Ligue 1 table with 18 points from 19 games.
