BSO decries Fayose’s advert on Buhari

To match Interview NIGERIA-BUHARI/The Buhari Support Organisations (BSO) has decried the front page advert placed in major national newspapers by Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, claiming it wished General Muhammadu Buhari death few days to the February 14th presidential election.

In a statement signed by its Director of Media and Information, Dr. Chidia Maduekwe, BSO noted that the last couple of days have witnessed the intensity with which Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) agents have tried to malign the health status of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, General Buhari.

Dr. Maduekwe said his organisation would have ignored what he called the PDP propaganda and that of Governor Fayose whom he described as a “drowning man attempting to hold onto any straw at sight.”

“The advertorial on some national dailies, depicting General Muhammadu Buhari as one facing an eminent death and advising voters not to vote for someone who will soon die is campaign of calumny taken over board. We have the duty and moral right to alert the reading public to completely discount such malicious and unfounded information.

“We are surprised that same day General Buhari directed the Buhari Support Organisations to commence training for our state coordinators on the importance of conducting a violence-free polls based on the Abuja Accord Template, a PDP governor had to place some advertorial on national dailies depicting General Muhammadu as one facing an eminent death and advising voters not to vote for someone who will soon die.’’

Madueke described the diatribes against Buhari as campaign of calumny taken overboard, adding that the advert even though signed by Governor Fayose had the blessing of the national leadership of the PDP and President Goodluck Jonathan.
