UEFA, FA, Chelsea, Mikel, others hail John Terry at 36

John Terry

Chelsea skipper, John Terry, clocked 36 on Wednesday.

The former England captain is undoubtedly one of the Premier League’s best defenders of all time with 488 appearances, scoring 40 times since making his debut in 1998.

In his 18 years at Stamford Bridge, the charismatic leader has had a trophy-laden career which has seen him win among other accolades four league titles, the UEFA Champions and Europa Leagues.

His birthday comes barely 48 hours after the iconic defender celebrated 15 years as captain of the club.

But the former Nottingham forest loanee has been confined to just four league starts this season due to an ankle injury.

In fact, Terry has only played six minutes since suffering a relapse of his injury in September.

However, this didn’t stop numerous soccer enthusiasts from wishing the Blues no 26 a happy birthday.

Here are some of the reactions on Twitter.
