Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi

Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has written his late mother Wuraola Ogunwusi a touching tribute on the 10th anniversary of her death.

The king’s mother died on April 29, 2012 at the age of 66 and left behind her husband Prince John Ogunwusi, and children namely Adegboyega, Adetunji, Folashade, Adesola, Adeyeye (Ooni of ife) and Adebimpe.

Serenading her in his tribute posted to Instagram on Friday, Oba Ogunwusi said, “A woman of inestimable values, full of elegance and lovely in her ways, a decade gone today, never forgotten. Thank you for your little enclave’s tiny hours of prayer. Your wisdom, which you imprinted in my heart, continues to flow like a spring of knowledge that leads and illuminates my path. In my cradle, you gently laid my feet on the appropriate paths, leading me with soft loving care.

“Even in the darkest hours, you taught me not to impose a milestone of limitation but to circumspectly walk through the rainbow of hope. I recall your warm embrace, the whisper of your mother’s powerful words instilling confidence in me when the going became tough, the fingerprints of great actions, and the joy of our never-ending bond. Your motherhood has inexplicable attributes.”

The monarch added that his mother eschewed physical riches, alluring houses, and glamour but endowed the world with the legacy that endures times.

“Today one of the houses you built is a testimony of the promise and a fulfilment of prophecy; the Ooni Adimula Ife – Ooni Ojaja II, a house in which you will forever reside,” he noted.

“It’s your 10th year remembrance today and you remain forever in our hearts-Olori Agba Wuraola Abegbe Ogunwusi omo Soji Opa from Ile-Ife, sun re o.”
