#OccupyLekkiTollGate: Nigerians threaten fresh protest at Lekki toll gate

End SARS protest

Threats of a fresh protest at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos over plans to reopen it for operations have filled the air.

On social media, display pictures and banners to create awareness about the protest have been shared multiple times.

One of the posters read that the protest will commence at 7 am on February 13, 2020.

Some of the posters have inscriptions such as “No justice, no reopening”, and “Occupy Lekki tollgate” among others.

Threats of protest followed the go-ahead given by the Lagos State judicial panel of inquiry on SARS for the Lekki Concession Company to resume operations at the toll gate.

The panel is investigating the shooting of #EndSARS protesters by soldiers at the Lekki toll gate on October 20, 2020.

The decision to reopen the toll gate for operations has already set the panel in disunity after four out of the nine members of the panel faulted the report of the forensic experts hired to comb the scene for evidence and also rejected the approval for operations to resume at the toll gate.
