Nollywood actor, Yomi Fash-Lanso, has paid tribute to fellow actor, Ogun Majek, who died on Thursday, praising him as an actor who will always be remembered for his acting style.

The 52-year-old shared the tribute on Instagram on Friday.

He wrote, “Alhaji Gbolagade Akinpelu, Ogun Majek as you’re fondly called due to the character of Ogun (one of the powerful deities in Yorubaland) you played and played so well many years ago…

“I will forever remember and be thankful to you in this line of my job. You stood out as of the Ọ̀ga’s, ever ready to mingle and discuss with all and sundry, irrespective of age or status, sharing ideas and experiences from your vast wealth of knowledge.

“You left positive footprints in the industry and in the minds of those that were fortunate to come across you. No doubt in my mind you’re resting in the bosom of your creator. Rest in peace, sir.”

The death of Ogun Majek in his home in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, was confirmed by the President of Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) Bolaji Amusan.

The ailing actor was rumoured to have died in May, a report which was debunked by actress, Foluke Daramola, on Instagram.

This came after the rumour had appeared on her Facebook page. She confirmed that he was still alive and blamed Godmyne TV, which managers her page, for the error.
