Coronavirus: Nigeria records new highest daily infection toll

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday announced 681 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country, the highest recorded on a single day.

The agency said on Twitter that of the 681 new cases, Lagos has 345, Rivers-51, Ogun-48, Gombe-47, Oyo-36, Imo-31, Delta-28, Kano-23, Bauchi-18, Edo-12 and Katsina-12.

Others are Kaduna-9, Anambra-7, Jigawa-5, Kebbi-4, Ondo-4 and Nasarawa-1.

This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 14,554.

The agency also said death toll increased by five to place at 387 while the number of discharged patients increased to 4,494.
