60 killed as Boko Haram attacks Adamawa bar

And the blood shedding continues.

Boko Haram blastTerrorists belonging to the extreme Islamist group, Boko Haram, on Sunday bombed a bar and brothel located near a military base in Mubi, Adamawa State killing at least 60 people.

The wounded have been evacuated and are receiving treatment at the Mubi Cottage Hospital, Mubi, according to eyewitnesses.

Adamawa is one of the three states under emergency rule.

The explosion occurred around 6pm.

Many people, including soldiers, frequent the place to watch football matches on TV, eat and drink.

The attack comes on the day Cameroon security forces reportedly killed 40 members of the terror group in clashes in the country’s far north, shortly after the release of two Italian priests and a Canadian nun suspected to have been held by the Islamist group.

A presidency source confirmed the clashes, which took place west of the town of Kousseri, in the region bordering Nigeria and Chad.

Cameroon, which has been criticised by Nigeria for not doing enough to fight the Nigeria-based Boko Haram, deployed some 1,000 troops to the far north this week as it steps up the fight against the Islamist militants.
