Natasha Osawaru-Idibia, wife of singer Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, has resumed legislative duties at the Edo State House of Assembly following the birth of her first child.

The Edo State lawmaker shared a video on her Instagram story on Tuesday showing her return to plenary after maternity leave.

In the clip circulating online, she addressed fellow lawmakers during plenary and informed the Speaker of her return.

“I am happy to be back, too, from my maternity leave, Mr Speaker,” she said.

Mrs. Osawaru-Idibia and 2Baba welcomed their first child in November 2025.

In February, the couple held a dedication for their newborn at a Catholic church.

Photos and videos from the service showed the couple and the singer’s mother during the ceremony.

The lawmaker has drawn public attention in recent months over her relationship with 2Baba following his separation from actress Annie Idibia in 2025.

Reports had also circulated that the singer was arrested in the United Kingdom over an alleged assault involving Osawaru-Idibia.

In an interview with journalist Seun Okinbaloye, 2Baba addressed the issue and said he took responsibility for his actions.

He also revealed that his once “thick skin” had grown weaker over time, suggesting that fame and personal challenges had taken a toll on him.

Natasha Osawaru-Idibia is the granddaughter of the Esama of Benin Gabriel Igbinedion.
