Former manager of singer 2Baba, Kaka Igbokwe, has confirmed that the musician was arrested in London following a disagreement with his partner Natasha Osawaru.
Igbokwe spoke during an Instagram Live session with media personality Daddy Freeze on Monday, saying he was on the same flight with the couple and witnessed the incident.
He said “everything you heard about the couple’s face-off was true.”
According to him, after they landed, fans approached 2Baba and the singer followed them into a shop. Natasha felt abandoned and confronted him, leading to a heated exchange. Police officers intervened and 2Baba was arrested and handcuffed, he added.
His statement aligns with the initial claim first made in October by blogger Tosin Silverdam, who alleged that the couple had an altercation upon arrival in the UK and that police were called.
The speculation resurfaced after blogger Cutie Julls posted a viral clip appearing to show officers questioning the singer at what looks like London’s Gatwick Airport before escorting him out of the terminal.
The controversy originally gained attention in October when 2Baba missed his UK concert. He denied being arrested at the time and blamed his absence on a health issue.
In a video then, he said:
“First of all, I want to say everyone that came out, I appreciate you. We had a medical emergency, it was tough. To the organizers and everyone that came out, we go regroup and make something beautiful happen.”
He also added:
“If una no sabi something, make una no talk abeg. This ‘allegedly’, I don tire.”
