The police have commenced investigations of an alleged officer, Inusa Biu, who threatened to kill at least 200 people if President Muhammadu Buhari dies.

This was disclosed in a statement by Force Public Relations officer (FPRO), Jimoh Moshood, on Wednesday.

“The Nigeria Police Force has commenced investigation into the unfortunate personal comments made by the alleged Police officer named Inusa Saidu Biu on his Facebook account. Police officers are not to make unauthorized public comments,” Mr Moshood said in the statement.

Biu, a purported die-hard Buhari fan, made the threat on Facebook while reacting to speculation about the health of the president.

The man who is said to hail from Biu Local Government Area of Borno State claimed some people were trying to kill the president.

Some media reports claim that was not the first time Biu has sworn to kill if Buhari dies while in government.

His inflammatory post has been removed from Facebook.
